Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej and is now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 for the Olympic contest. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci in the age of seven years old. In 1969, she participated at the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. She won three golds in her debut competition which was a junior Olympic meet in 1972 for communist-friendly countries. In 1973 and 1974, she became the junior all-around champion. In addition, she won four gold and one silver medals in her debut competition as a senior that took place in 1975. This was the first time she had competed as a senior. In 1976, she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars using double backwards salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the world of entertainment began in her teen years when she began doing figure skating with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol began her career in entertainment as a teenager. In her early years, Carol began as a figure skater in the traveling show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. These shows included ice skating performance that was accompanied by theatrical music.
